Hey Gang! Whatcha think of my plans and Rooster issue?

Don't worry your head or waste your time trying to 'make them' roost. I assure, nature is a better teacher than we are. They will unquestionably get the urge to roost on their own, then they will learn by themselves. They are hardwired. There are always exceptions of course, but you needn't freak over them not roosting yet. It may be several more weeks before they get the bug..........some sooner, some later...........

Well, last night I went in to lock up the birds and half of them were on the brooder, so I grabbed them and put them on the roost and quickly turned off the light ...

Judging by the poop up there, they used it all night ... It is so hard for me to be hands off at times

So it got to almost 90 today ... I saw two chickens panting .... the others weren't .... I put some ice water out in the run and went to home depot to get a few pieces of lumber for compost bin completion, when I got back all the chickens seemed fine .... are chickens like dogs when they get hot?
