Hey Gang! Whatcha think of my plans and Rooster issue?

Congrats on the new peeps! Looks like your coop is going to be beautiful! You are most certainly on the right track to raising a very happy and healthy flock. Using a hardware cloth divider for introducing new chicks is a great idea, I have used it several times with success. When figuring out when to introduce pay more attention to the size of the chicks then to age. Bigger ones are always going to pick on smaller ones, just a part of chicken nature. But keeping them close in size will help keep that to a minimum. Good Luck and Enjoy!

Thank you Caleb, Zach and Skye :) ....

A little more progress .... and a quick pic of my babies ... they grow fast!

That coop is looking very good =] it looks like on the left side you have a poop board? If it isnt you should DEFINETLEY get one =] Those chicks are looking very good... something i have found to help with keeping them healthy, is to give them 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar per liter of drinking water =] this will help prevent coccidiosis first and foremost, but will just help them stay healthy all around =]
hope this helps

If you look at the previous page, you will see a poop board and roost on both sides of the coop :) I lowered the roosts to under 12" from the boards .... the boards are 24" wide I also do put vinegar in the water as I have read that on here :) Keep the thoughts coming guys and gals as I go ... it helps a ton!

how many birds are you keeping again, (be sure to add 5 (chicken math xD) lol i have read and found to be true that you need 8 inches of roost space per bird..... so possibly you would want to build another roost and poop board under each or over each like bunk beds =] but again i dont know have many chickens you are planning on keep
