Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

thechickenchick - What is Cabin Stew? How cool that it made you think of a loved one. That made me smile!

How scary that must have been for your son to have suffered a TBI. I'm glad to hear that they've found a way to include him. That is soooo important at that age! My son is a slower grower (he has a constitutional growth delay) and has just passed me in height (which isn't saying much!). It's so funny. His voice is now doing the Peter Brady (for those of you who remember the Brady Bunch show from the 70s).

He grew over an inch in the last 6 weeks!

Speaking of cheap wine, for those of you with a Trader Joe's nearby, the "Two Buck Chuck" is my go-to cheap wine. It's not a sweet wine but it's pretty decent considering that it's only $1.99 here in Cali.

It has even won some awards.

Oh, dinner tonight is lasagna, salad, and rosemary French bread.

The closest Trader Joe's to me is in Ma-I used to live 10 minutes from it.
I so miss it-we don't have any in Maine. I am not complaining though, our local food is beyond reproach!

We are having Pastisio and Greek salad tonight.

I do believe that this could qualify me for "worst Mom ever", but my kids are having ramen for dinner

I am sick and have no business being in the kitchen so thats what they are getting. I did pull out some veggies and dip and chunks of cheese to go with the evil noodles tho...

edited for "sprelling" lol

Felt better yesterday till about 1/2 hour ago actually. Stomach thing. I made chilli cheese dog bake but I dont think Im going to be eating any.

To continue the wine discussion ... Ohio is blessed with many vinyards and some award winning wines, especially our ice wines ... but my personal favorite is a glass of boxed Vella red.

We're under a weather watch tonight, with lake effect snow falls of up to a foot. Yuckkk! So tonight was a spicy chili, corn bread, and a tossed green salad on the side.

Feel better everyone!

I hope your friend is OK. What a tragedy! I couldn't believe the pictures on the news. It breaks my heart.

We had tuna noodle cass. last night and homemade cream of tomato soup. I was trying to make up for the tuna thing with homemade soup! I think it worked because we ate it all!!

I need suggestions with supper tonight. I like it to be homemade but need something quick.

Here in Texas we had a freeze last night. When I left this morning it was 30. I had to cover my just planted tomato plants! I'm ready for some warm weather. Ya'll can remind me of this when I am complaining about the 110 degree weather in August!!!

Hope all is feeling better now and my prayers go out to Italy and those involved.

How are you doing today, menageriemama and ams?

I'm glad to hear the pinched nerve is on the mend, happyhen!

Any word from your friend, Anneesa's Muse? I hope everything is OK

What do you have in the fridge/freezer Liza? We love coming up with ideas here on this thread.

I also need to do 'quick' as I am running in about 7 or 8 different directions today. I have some beans soaking right now and will put them in the crockpot for chili in a bit. With all my running around today, it's either that or fast food. I'd rather have homemade!

We have not heard from Franz yet...

I think I'll make some kebabs with ground chuck and some fresh herbs from my garden ..spicy! ...and tabouleh or some other similar side ..salad and naan .........I think!
