I suspect someone else is praying harder tho 'cuz the rain isn't coming my way. Oh well, it's pretty, sunny, and just right weather wise. Rain would have been nice, tho.

Tonight will be shrimp over pasta, steamed veggies (cauliflower, broccoli, and zukes), and sourdough bread.

Beer boiled shrimp, salad and homemade foccacia here tonight. Num!

Sorry I have been MIA but I just got to start soft food the middle of last week and still on them LOL.

On top of that me and my sister cooked for a neices wedding (400 strong ate) so that took up 3 days last week. Everyone raved over the food and we had peope start to ask if we catered and we said NO before they could finish LOL.

But her brother is getting married in 2010 and we had to say we would cook when he cornered us.


I am getting a new, frig, stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher and freezer. I am sooooooooooooo excited. Had to share.

I didn't cook. Leftovers galore.. and not really in the mood. No one starved.

Shrimp and pasta sounds yummy, though ..and fresh Morels, oh my ...and better yet.. homemade foccacia... NUM!!

I think I gain a few ounces just reading this thread, some days...

Monday, I made 3 1/2 pounds of meatballs. Shared half with my Daughter and her family - she had surgery for skin cancer/mole. Half was bbq and the other half made into spaghetti and meatballs - grandkids like that.

I simmered ours in bbq sauce and we had applesauce and potato salad from Sunday. We had leftover pound cake that was somewhat of a flop. I used an old tried and true recipe and I finally figured out the problem - I forgot to add the baking soda. We still ate it, but I didn't give it as planned.

bigmike&nan, thanks for the inspiration for today's menu. I'll make pizza using the mozzarella I made yesterday. DH can take the leftovers in his lunch.

Backyard Buddies, I'd gladly share some of the rain we've been getting. Finally, the mud is drying up - just in time for the rains in the forecast for Wednesday.

So sorry about your excess rain, prairiegirl! We haven't had rain in well over a month and it's much needed. Our rainy season is in the winter months but it's always nice to get a little here and there at other times of the year. Today was beautiful - 70s and a slight breeze off the ocean.

Being Cinco de Mayo and all, I have a chicken tortilla soup in the crockpot and some flan cooling on the counter before heading into the fridge. I forgot to pick up the regular ingredients, so I followed a recipe that uses milk and cream instead of the evaporated/condensed milks. Hope it's good.

Well I had a milkyway bar. Yummy and if ya hold it in your mouth long enough it is soft food LOL.
