Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Two nights ago my youngest daughter made Mexican Spaghetti Pie. It is always a favorite...even more so cause I don't have to cook it!

Leftovers tonight....

DH LOVED:love the tri-tip in cream of shrrom soup over rice! He wants me to make the leftover into enchiladas. Guess I need to make tortillas. Tonight , I think will be hot cereal, I'm not having a good day, need something quick and easy.

Thanks to everyone for the great Pork ideas! I will be trying one of them tomorrow instead.

We had an impromptu gathering at my MILs today for lunch. She sent enough food home for supper and probably breakfast too! She is a great cook. I have gained 15 pounds since marrying into this family 2 years ago!

I'm not chickenchick, but I'm always looking for new ideas for pork. I hope to try them this summer.

Yesterday, I made spaghetti sauce with a bit of a different twist for us. I used our home canned sauce, but added just a 1/2 pound of cooked ground beef, an extra large amount of frozen green peppers and 2 big handfuls of dehydrated yellow pear tomatoes and a handful of dehydrated cherry tomatoes. I let this simmer most of the afternoon and then served it over penne pasta. YUM! We didn't miss the extra meat at all. I also baked bread. Dessert was Snickerdoodles.

Today, we have to pick up hay as soon as my DH gets home from work. It's been offered to us for free, but has to be used now. Can't pass on that deal. Anyway, we'll be having leftovers from Tuesday and Monday.

We are again hip deep in mud with all the rain. Hope you are all doing better as far as weather goes.

who else is having pizza tonite?

i'm making it and am starving.... hurry up and heat up oven!

i'm also starting focaccia bread using the whey from my possibly-disastrous cheese making from this morning...

whats cookin'?

we had hot dogs and frenchfries. not a great meal here today. Im gonna fix something good tomorrow. it is just too hot to have the stove going.

No pizza tonight, but it's in the plans. Last night I made spaghetti, salad, and bread. There's quite a bit of leftover sauce that we will make into homemade pizzas soon.

Tonight we're going out to eat at a local Irish pub. During the school year, we cannot get the kids out of the house because they're tired of being away all day. So, during the summer we take advantage of the fact that they've spent a lot more time at home and want to get out of the house.

Everyone must be too busy to post the last couple of days.
I'd like to hear what meals you prepare on the hot summer days.

We smoked chicken and short ribs on our new grill/smoker yesterday. It sure was good.

Tonight, my DD is making Cheeseburger Sloppy Joes. We'll have cottage cheese, pickled beets, pickles and chips. Rice Krispy Bars for dessert.
A nice simple supper for a hot day.

Cheeseburger sloppy joes sound yummy! How does your DD make them?

We are having Bacon/chicken salad with home made dressing. Also I baked some bread to serve with it. Tomorrow is my "Taco Tuesday". I am leaning towards Taco Burgers. I have some great buns that need to be used up. Does anyone have a good way to do these? I have done them in the past and the filling always falls all over. Is there a trick?

Have a nice evening everyone!!
