Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Hey, I'm BAAAACK!!!!

Thanks for you all missing me, at least someone does.

I haven't been online much, too busy getting ready for Christmas, and with all the problems surrounding DD's deployment and all the grandkids. I have just been checking email and responding to threads from there. I looked a couple of times when I had a few mins. and couldn't find the new thread. I wish I had, I could have save you all a lot of time. When I read that the thread was to be deleted, I spent several hrs. cutting and pasting to my computer. So I have all the recipes!

I have been thinking about Tutter also. Hope all is okay and she gets back here soon!

I posted a thread this morning with an update on my granddaughters.

I haven't been doing much cooking, been stuck up here mostly, just using whatever we have on hand. We went to town last week, it usually takes 15min. It took us 37min!! The roads were sooo Icy! It is 24* and with windchill is going between 5* and -5*!! I need to go out and take care of the animals and bring in more wood!!!

Glad I found you all and will keep checking in .

Monica

Going out for dinner with the three kids and my BIL and his GF, who my DH greatly dislikes. *sigh* I am just going to focus on the fact that I dont have to cook

Welcome back, cknmom!

I hope it all settles down soon and the ice melts, too. I never liked driving (or being a passenger) on ice'y roads.

I got caught up in a cleaning spree yesterday ..lasted well into the night ..and almost forgot that we needed to eat! Good thing there's pasta and jarred sauce in the cupboard, most days...

I think I'll make up for my lapse yesterday, and rotisserie a young hen ..cheese up some mac in the oven ...and "kill" some frozen collard greens

If DH remembers the buttermilk, there will be cornbread...

I hope everyone survived ..and thoroughly enjoyed.. their holiday celebrations!

Welcome back, cknmom! I'm glad you found us again. I hope all goes well with your adjustments and that life settles down some for you. Do be sure to pay us a visit when you have a moment so that we won't worry.

Sure wish we could have had your help in the rescue attempt as well. It would have saved ALL of us some time.

Still no word from Tutter. I've emailed directly, twice.

Like you, Aneesa's Muse, I've been on a cleaning binge. I hope you got further along than I have so far today. There's much left to do.

Sounds like you all have some yummy plans for supper! How did the Gingerbread turn out skand and thechickenchick?

Like menageriemama, I'm not cooking tonight. It'll be takeout and a quiet movie at home. Sounds nice after all the rush of the holidays.

Welcome back cknmom! We missed you!

I envy both Aneesa and BB their energy. I feel very lazy today, so it was just a little tidy up and a load of laundry.

Thanks for sharing that gingerbread recipe skand. My crew loves gingerbread and that sounds perfect to try for New Year's day. If I make it tomorrow or the next day, it should be perfect.

I have a fridge full of leftovers, so everyone can fix a plate of whatever, whenever tonight. My, I am lazy today!

Oh yummy! Have you ever had homemade marshmallows? They are sooooo delicious! There's a little restaurant near the ocean in Laguna Beach that makes them. They have vanilla, mint, and one more that I'm forgetting at the moment. Float one of those big slabs on a cup of hot cocoa and you have one yummy, tasty treat!

Can't wait to try this. I'm sure I could get the kids to help me with this one! Thanks!
