Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Hey gang! I'm glad to hear you are all still in the kitchen these days. I've been cooking, but not much to report. I made my Sour Cream Chicken recipe yesterday, but used turkey cutlets instead. I was surprised at how NOT soft those things were! Anyhoo, it's Wednesday, and therefore B4D, and I'm thinking of making European Hot Cereal that I get at the health food store.

Any holiday food traditions you all would like to share?

Had to drag this thread up to post what we had for supper tonight...

Baked ribeye roast seasoned with a peppercorn rub, mashed potatoes made with real butter and sour cream, steamed broccoli & cauliflower, yeast rolls w/ butter.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO stuffed!

I am attempting to cook dinner on my woodstove. I have a large kettle/dutch oven on legs.

I rubbed 2 cornish hens with turkey rub and put it in the kettle with red potatoes and carrots.

Hubby got the stove going good and then turn the damper so it is not roaring.

Hopefuly it will cook quickly.

I agree! That sounds wonderful. Beef and Bean burrittos and Fried rice here tonight.

That was one EXPENSIVE roast, but DH got it on sale for a good price. I told the kids it was our formal Christmas dinner a few days in advance. We'll probably have sandwiches on Christmas.
