Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

It'll sure do for fast food! The half-grown kids think it is a wonderful thing, and they won out this evening.

We don't have chick-fil-a on the west coast, I'd never been until I visited my sister in Arkansas this last May. Oh man! I'm not sure I ate anything there besides the biscuits and gravy. I've never, ever had fast food biscuits and gravy that was that good. Usually I won't even try at a fast food place, they're so disappointing.

Tonight is some form of baked chicken leg quarters, salad and probably rice.

Tonight, the hubby has requested roast beef and provolone hoagies and potato salad for football game watching fare. -also placed a request for a fresh pecan pie. -reckon I shall oblige. (Tomorrow is the 23rd anniversary, and I shall be placing a request for a restaurant.)

Happy anniversary! You'll have to update your sig line lol.

So I have a bag that says "venison chunks" defrosting......and absolutely no inspiration. Maybe in a mushroom gravy? Honestly, I got nothing. Will milk the family for ideas.

Venison stew is good stuff, but the longer it[s cooked the better it is. Princess picked u p a fresh mozzarella and tomato pizza.

I was strongly leaning toward stew, but we had it earlier this week and the fam said it was too soon. Plus, I have no carrots. Carrots are a very necessary part of stew. So I cooked it in butter, coated with flour, made a gravy with onions and shrooms over mashed taters with corn. I swear, I think I could serve dogturds in gravy over mashed taters with corn and my family would lick their plates and ask for seconds!

What a hoot! -sounds like my bunch! If it is in gravy over 'taters or covered with steak sauce or barbecue sauce, my family will devour regardless of substance. (only prerequisite is that it can't leap from the plate)

Yeah, forgot about the bbq sauce--that'd work, too! On the one hand, it sure makes them easy to cook for...........on the other hand, different types of food are good, too
