I like to knock off the stem, stand it on the stem end, and cut the bottom in a circle like I'm getting ready to carve a pumpkin. Scrape out the seeds, add a nice chunk of butter and brown sugar, maybe some walnuts.I'm glad you posted the pictures. I never thought to cut the squash in half that way and make it look cute, I always cut it in half from stem to stern...
I put the lid back on, and zap it in the microwave until done.
