Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

-leftover night, here.

"You'll be eatin' it or I'm givin' it to the dogs." A quote from my Mom. Oh one time my sister got in BIG trouble on 'leftover night'.

Tonight we shall have chuck pot roast (the half that I froze a couple of weeks ago), creamed spinach, mashed potatoes with gravy, and a nice tomato/mozzarella/vinaigrette salad.

Yep, you can do a lot as long as you are not excessively rude or foul mouthed.

Which leads in to the story of my sister. She sort of has an irrational personality to go along with her red hair. It was leftover night, and she said, "I'm not gonna eat that stuff (insert expletive)" My dad said, "Young lady, that language is not allowed in this house." She flipped him the bird, dropped the 'F' bomb and ran out the door. Mind you, this is not in today's culture. This was nearly 70 years ago. I knew he was going to kill her whenever he caught her. Dad worked shift work and she dodged him for weeks until he calmed down. Once again she emerged unscathed.

Sure made an impression on me, the 'good kid''

Hey, I resemble that redhead comment!

Well, when I had hair, anyway

Should be coming back anytime. We'll see what I get!

anyhoo--dinner is bbq meatballs, rice and green beans.

Tonight I made a steak with potato pancakes, creamed spinach and a nice salad. Tomorrow we go to our daughters. I'm bringing butternut squash casserole, mushrooms in brown gravy and the Princess made a cheesecake of some sort. Everyone have a good Thanksgiving with your families.

Turkey leftovers of course. Hot turkey sandwich, leftover smashed potatoes, leftover sweet potato casserole, leftover green bean casserole. My husband says his stomach hurts.

Last night we took a break from turkey and had a chicken patty sandwich, leftover green bean casserole, and fruit that we didn't get to eat at Thanksgiving.
