Well Gwen I know it is cold here, got to -37 last night this morning they canceled the schools and the college. I know it is cold.

ZooKeeper....I take it back! It's just a might chilly here! We are hovering at 20* ABOVE 0.

I think I did hear on the news this morning about schools closing because of the extreme cold.

Bundle up...and stay home! My hubby loves mexican cornbread with his chili...but I have a starter that was overflowing...

How is it that week after week, you guys all make the same thing on the same night?

Chili sounds soooo good right now but it's still HOT (80 degrees) here in So. Cal. Can you all please send some of your cold weather this way? Please?!!

With all this talk of chili ..I've decided to make a white one. I have the chicken breast already ..and some white beans around here somewhere ...all the spices and such ..peppers and onions already chopped ..and I picked up some jalapenos the other day, for my spicy cornbread with added cheese and white kernel corn.

It's slightly warm here, too... Backyard Buddies ..but not in the 80s ..wow!

hahaha I've got chilli on the menu for tomarrow. Tonight is baked stuffed pork chops with stove top's cranberry stuffing.

Hey BB I will send ya some of mine as of an hour ago we were already -24 and that was not with the wind chill. Wind is really picking up. Schools and colleges were closed today because of the cold here.


I would love to send ya my cold.

I'll let Zookeeper send you her cold temps BB. She needs to warm up!

I never pay much attention to the wind chill factor since I don't go outside naked in the winter.

It's your basic chili recipe, but use a "white" meat and "white" beans ..and "white" pepper (or fresh ground corns). Sometimes, I add more tomatillas or preserved/frozen heirlooms like zebra or lemon, etc. ...to the sauce... to stay with the "white" theme.

My spice mix is basic.. chili powder, paprika, cumin, coriander, thyme, oregano, cayenne, fresh ground pepper, and so on.

sounds good! so..can i cheat and use the chili spice packets?...

....but do the rest with the white theme?​
