Zoo -

I'm sorry to hear about your fall. I hope it doesn't set you back too much and that you're back on the road to recovery.

happyhen - I hope you feel better soon as well. Tummy bugs are no fun!

We were at the home of friends last night and had pizza and salad.

And tonight. . . . I finally got the memo!!!! Like Skand and happyhen's family, we had burgers.

The weather was so warm (still in the 80s) that we decided to grill. We had buttered corn as a side.

Hey all knee is doing good today, thanks for the well wishes.

Happyhen sure hope that bug is gone not fun to be sick, worse thing is if you are the first by the time everyone else gets it you get is again. Sure hope that don't happen.

Aneesa glad you are listening to your Mom and getting checked out I will be keeping you in my prayers even more than I already do.

I went to a tastefully homes party and tried 15 different things, supper tonight Rolaids LOL Kidding. But I sure am not going to be eating. Son had bean buritos and sour cream.

Zoo... I am fortunate to have my Mom here to share her health issues with me, as she was not so fortunate. I think it's very important that women pay attention to the things their Moms went through ..it can definitely provide clues when we are having our own.

skand.. if I could eat Velveeta without getting a massive migraine, I definitely would ...so have some for me!!

happyhen.. I hope you are feeling better soon. I had the other end issue today ...and I suspect the poop water shower I got from the Triplets this morning ...darn chickens! ..had something to do with it

Oh.. and I won't be telling about the dirt baking ..I've baked a bit of my own.. driftwood, too...

I got another egg, this evening! Weezer, aka. Louise, was just standing up off it when I went to close the coop door for the night. I tried to get DH to feel how warm it was, fresh from her tooter... he wasn't impressed

Aneesa- I LOVE when I get out in time to get a warm egg, you sure can't get any fresher than that!! It's GREAT!

Happyhen- take it easy and get well, then make everyone stay away from you while they are sick, so you don't get it again.

Zoo- Glad to hear your knee is doing better. BE CAREFUL!!

We were out shooting all day, so easy dinner yesterday, kind of along with others-hotdogs and chips! We were going to bbq, but it got cold and windy-we have storms coming in this week.

Monica

Tonight-something with hamburger, not sure yet.

Something chicken tonight. lol

Oh Aneesa, been meaning to tell you. My aunt has had migraines for years, last year, she broke out in this horrible rash. Doctor after doctor later, she finds out she is allergic to nickel.
Once she changed her diet, and started omitting things that contain nickel. (not using the faucet to get a drink, not using canned food items, etc) she doesnt have such whoppers of migraines. As she put it, its funny when you welcome a headache, just so you dont suffer the migraine. lol

We ended up having burritos last night ..DH's fault
tongue.png

We'll have Split Pea tonight ..with all that other stuff I mentioned before ...maybe

skand... thank you! I am going to ask one of my docs to do an allergy test for nickel. I do eat canned beans and tomatoes, occasionally ..and believe it or not ..the water from the tap is pretty darn good here.

Well, its the fact of what the pipes contain, plus the faucets. If there is nickel in them, it can cause a reaction. My aunt, even to wash dishes, has to turn the water on, and let it run through the faucet for a few minutes to flush out the build up. The water left in after you turn it off, collects the metals.
Desk chairs, everything. lol She has a list of common things that contain nickel, it's as big as a freakin phonebook! She calls it her, "how to get out of doing almost everything because of an allergy", book. lol

For tonight, because it's going to be cold (and the weather people are calling for SNOW for us tonight!

)
I'm going to S L O W bake pork ribs in my Pampered Chef covered stone baker. Seasoned with loads of pepper and a little salt, I slow cook them until the meat literally falls off the bones...

To go along with the ribs, we're going to have some delicious, dripping-with-real-butter homemade creamed, not mashed, potatoes - and steamed broccoli florets (just say no to broccoli stems!) I think I'll make some chocolate drop cookies for dessert too.

hen mama-that sounds great!
Decided that I'd make boxed mac n cheese:( but I'll put keilbasa and onions in it so it is edible to me.
tomorrow will be hamburger mixed with wild rice, celery and corn.
Monica

Thanks for all the well wishes!

It's day two for tea, crackers and gingerale, but I do feel a little better. This is not how I planned to shed those couple of pounds gained over the Holidays!

The family had the frozen pizzas I keep for "kid snacks".

Those just-layed-eggs make great handwarmers while doing chicken chores in this arctic deep freeze.
