I need cheddar beer fondue details please.

Melted cheddar and beer in the same pot?
We are cheese addicts, if we add beer I suppose we'd be cheeseaholics.

Flavor was good but I didn't get the consistency right, it was grainy. That's happened to me the past few times with different fondue recipes though....not sure why. Regardless, we ate it all.

Here's the recipe:

1 lb sharp cheddar cheese, shredded 1 TBSP all purpose flour 3/4 C lager beer 1 TBSP minced garlic 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsp mustard powder

Mix Cheddar cheese and flour together in a bowl. Bring beer to a light boil in the fondue pot. Add garlic, Worcestershire and mustard and stir. Gradually stir cheese in. Reduce heat to low, cook and stir until cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.

Serve with french bread, Granny Smith and red apples, baby carrots, broccoli florets.

This is definitely different than fondue with wine which my husband says he prefers and I think I do, too. Still, if you like beer, it's definitely worth a try. Let us know what you think.

Tonight if it doesn't rain we will grill shish ke babs. It probably will rain and continue into eternity, so in that case, we will have fried egg sandwiches and watermelon....this RAIN! GAAAAAAh!

rain is a pain here, too! can't get the hay done, so DH is as mad as H&%%!!
grilling salmon and veggies for rest of us, BBQ chicken for DH with corn--food is medicine!

Food is healing. Tonight I will 'heal' with: chicken cutlets, beets, sweet corn preceded by a tomato, Bibb lettuce, Mozzarella salad bathed in balsamic vinaigrette.

Have chicken thighs in the crockpot (out in the garage, too hot for even the crock in the house!) with a jar of home made chili sauce. We'll have tortilla chips and cheese, tomato and avocado with them.

I made a huge pot of leek, bacon, and potato soup that we ate for two days.
Leek is Delicious.

Today we did an early dinner very late lunch at a new Vietnamese restaurant.
VERY good. I had soup. I thought three days in a row of soup and I would get whiny, but I do believe I can eat Vietnamese everyday and be happy.
and healthy.
and thin.
