Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Seafood chowder and probably crescent rolls. I don't want to bake real bread or biscuits.

We are finally getting around to our thanksgiving.
Hubby has a turkey on the rotisserie and I am doing the sweet potatoes now.
Some homemade cranberry sauce a big green salad and we will call it meal.

Thawing out some pork country style ribs. Will probably just bake them in the oven. This time of year I don't mind running the oven for a few hours

. And maybe some tasty dessert will make itself and pop in there with them, who knows?

Marinated boneless chicken breast...grilled with asparagus and bell pepper. Bittersweet chocolate mousse for dessert. Way too rich. .

Well, the power went out in the garage this am, so we spent a few hours on that. That in turn pushed everything else back, and I never got those ribs in the oven. Dinner was burgers and tots instead, good thing I'd just been to the bread store. Ribs and slaw tomorrow. And that something sweet, for sure!

Finally fixed those ribs, but not the slaw. I wanted something different that BBQ, so I simmered them in marinara sauce. they didn't get fork tender, but they did slice up easily and tasted great!

I was cooking up some pasta for us carbers. I always use the lid of the pot to drain the pasta....this time, my glass lid shattered

. Sugar Monkey and I decided we didn't want our pasta dressed with glass, so I made some onion buns into garlic bread instead. SM got to play with the shattered glass, he was fascinated by it! That boy's kind of weird.....but I like him.

Steak, green beans, and grated potato cakes with heirloom tomato/mozzarella salad.

I grated one of my fingers while doing the potatoes , and the Princess was like

. I assured her that after 51 years 10 months and 7 days together there was little need to worry about the transfer of bodily fluids.

I was more worried about the cost of the tomatoes - $ 4.95/ lb. Made me wonder how many thousands of dollars worth I grew this year.

Oh, I hate it when I get my finger!

But I'm with ya on the fluids thing. We pretty much have what each other has. Share and share alike, and all that.

Tonight is meatloaf, mashed taters and probably peas. I'm just not that inspired tonight.
