We had grilled steaks, cheesy rice, and peas 'n' carrots. And some yummy cabernet.

DH is gonna be a chunkabutt, if he doesn't slow down on the sweet stuff

My dinner is almost done ..and I'm about to shoot poor Sooky in the leg again ..my little Stinkpot rescue has an RI (someone left the bathroom window open and the draft got him sick.. poor baby).

And these two hooligans showed up, today.. I named 'em Marianne 'n Ginger!

Thanks! I am feeling better, not great, but those turnovers will help! I saw the pic of Marianne and Ginger, you are a brave woman! They sure are cute!

I get to spend most of the day in town

so I need to get something in the crock-pot this morning. I will probably throw something in the bread machine as well!

Well I decided what to put in the crock-pot. It is getting close to pay day so it is starting to look like Mother Hubbard's cupboard around here!

Here is what "Mother Hubbard" came up with. I have had this jar of gourmet cranberry BBQ sauce sitting in there since last summer. So I took deer stew meat and sauteed that in onion, salt and pepper. Put it in pot, added BBQ sauce and can of cranberry sauce. I will let it simmer while I am in town all day and serve it over fluffy white rice when I get home. I also cut up tomato, cucumbers and carrots for a side.

I've been doing the 'down and dirty' = involvement of caustic cleaning supplies.. grills, vents, spaces that get forgotten, icky stuff! ...on my kitchen all morning ..feels like Spring to me... so crockpot spaghetti sauce with ground beef and sausages. All I have to do is make the bread machine make some bread ..and boil some noodles........ oh, and toss a green salad.

If I have an inklin' of energy left, I'll make the Angel Food parfait thingy I've been meaning to do for weeks. It's on the box ..so shouldn't be too terribly difficult or time consuming. We'll see...

Yummy dinners on your tables tonight! I still wish we could have a potluck!

It's a very busy day for me, so in between my walk, grocery trip, visit from the plumber (needed a new Insta-hot put in cuz I'm too impatient to boil my tea water

), working, and then back to get the kids again, I threw some goulash into the crockpot for later. I have some fresh zucchini, but I haven't decided whether to save that until Thursday's dinner and just serve the goulash with a salad and garlic bread tonight. I'm leaning toward the salad.

I have a whole chicken in the oven, and I think I'll just do a baked potato, and tossed salad tonight. I have a wonderful looking recipe for roasted vegetables, and have all the things I need-zuchinni, yellow squash, purple onion, carrot, fresh mushrooms, etc...but it takes an hour, at a higher temp then the chicken is at, and I just didn't want to risk the veggies not turning out, or my chicken not getting done

Homemade pizza here tonight. I think with pepperoni, pineapple, ham and shrooms and of course LOTS of cheeses!! The dough is rising right now.

I don't remember who aske for more pudding recipes, I didn't forget, I Will get to posting them. Right now I just got embroiled in a custody battle for DGD. Her mother had me served with papers to have the courts giver DGD back to her. WE are trying to get enough money together for a retainer for an attorney. DGD is scared of her mother! WE CAN'T let her get her back. I have been spending a lot of time writing a statement refuting all of the lies her mother told in her 'TRUE' statement. DGD told DH while he was reading it that the papers were 'Real scary'.

I will get to the pudding in a dday or two, please be patient.

Aww.. cknmom ...I'm so sorry you are faced with a situation like this. Years and years ago, I was the child in this scenario ...your DGD is fortunate to have you! Good Luck!

Redfeathers, I hope you are right. I just got home and it smells pretty good in here! It has a sweet and sour smell to it. I will let you all know if it is good or if we end up eating cold cereal!
