Pray tell this "beer can" ..orange crush, mt. dew, dr. pepper ...chicken recipe?
Of course!! We have a holder made for this. Our is a double. You can buy a single chicken holder for just a few dollars. Or if you are creative you can rig something to keep the bird from falling over. Typically it is done on a BBQ however we sometimes do ours in the oven. Last night DH did one in the oven and forgot to place a pan under it!!
That's OK, but I told him its a good thing hes cute!!
You take a pop/beer can. Dump about half of it out. You can add spices to the liquid if you want. You slip the bird on to the can so it is up in the body cavity. Then stuff a potato in the top of the bird. This keeps more moisture in. You rub the skin with oil and seasonings. Ours took about 2 hours at 300.
It is so easy and tasty. Its fun to experiment with different liquids too. If you find a winning combination, let me know!
