Of course!! We have a holder made for this. Our is a double. You can buy a single chicken holder for just a few dollars. Or if you are creative you can rig something to keep the bird from falling over. Typically it is done on a BBQ however we sometimes do ours in the oven. Last night DH did one in the oven and forgot to place a pan under it!!

That's OK, but I told him its a good thing hes cute!!

You take a pop/beer can. Dump about half of it out. You can add spices to the liquid if you want. You slip the bird on to the can so it is up in the body cavity. Then stuff a potato in the top of the bird. This keeps more moisture in. You rub the skin with oil and seasonings. Ours took about 2 hours at 300.

It is so easy and tasty. Its fun to experiment with different liquids too. If you find a winning combination, let me know!

Sounds like a wonderful dinner! How do you guys make your chicken fried steak? I made it last week and it wasn't as good as I had hoped

Im thinking sausage left over from last night (sausage and sauce hoagies and baked corn) in some fried rice.

Welcome to the thread McLuvin and chickencoop31320! What fun to have a mother/daughter team on our thread. Do you two cook together?

Tonight will be easy - probably something take-out/in or leftovers. It's a crazy day!

ams drag races sound fun! We went once last year. It was a good time!

Chickencoop and Mcluvin welcome to the kitchen! Chicken fried steak sounds great. I haven't done that in a while. Now that you brought it up I will have to do it soon.

I had some corned beef/cabbage in the freezer from St Patty's day. I am going to warm that up and mix it with some hot egg noodles. I am also baking some wheat bread to serve.

I think a glass of wine for dessert sounds good! I have a favorite that I buy. The only reason I even tried it was because it has a picture of a rooster on the label!

I have a stand or two here, so I think I can manage it ..or slap a hen on the rotisserie and plug both ends with a tater... how 'bout that? LOL

Welcome to the kitchen, Chickencoop and Mcluvin! It's nice to see some GA folks in here.. even if I have been stuck in CA for a loooong time now

I grew up back and forth from ATL to near Ft. Benning, on my Daddy's farm... and I'm often homesick, so please share some good "southern comforts" when you can
