We have not had a huge cost increase on meat ? I know it has gone up some

Yeah actually beef has been high for awhile. For the most part I shop sales. And when I want a nice piece of beef I go to a better store. I should get it at Costco but the packs are big and give me sticker shock.

We split those then look it is not so gastly when You get 4 meals from it.

Beef started jumping here around 5-6 years ago. But these past 2 years have been the worst. Skirt steak used to be 3.99/lb. Then up to 4.99, and then 6.99. Now it's up to 9.99 and some stores are higher. It's crazy! We started going to a whole saler that has a public store after prices increased. Now, even going there isn't worth it. I catch sales when I can, but beef is rare around here. Maybe a few times a month any more.

That said, today was a beef day actually.

Steak frites! Served with brussel sprouts (cooked with bacon and added bacon fat and a touch of butter!!!)

It was very good. The last minute demi-glace put on a whole new level. DW ate her plate clean and hardly spoke a word while doing so. LOL

Remember those days when chuck was fairly inexpensive? I lucked out the other day, Safeway had rolled roasts for $4.99 a pound. The one I got was 3.13 pounds and will made at least 3 dinners for us. Next time I shop I will be

The chuck roast was on sale for $5.97 per pound. It turned out to be very good.

We have bought a couple at Costco on sale also.
I buy 1 lb Jimmy Dean so not allot of rease in them.
I have sausage patties I formed cooking for breakfast muffins
