Wow purr... be careful with those "bitey" things! I hope your exchange with the insurance company is painless and quick!

I am glad you are okay and the "bite" wasn't too terribly bad. I have been "bit" by the electrical beast before and my darn arm hurt for a week plus! Not fun!

Backyard Buddies... I sure hope Tutter is okay. I've been afraid that stupid fire situation would chase her out of her home. I sure hope not!

We'll have to organize a Chicken Round-up some time ..and have Chorizo Tacos together!

Oh.. and I was some place a week or so ago and saw a Chicken Pozole (sp?) on the menu ..made me giggle.

First cool day in a while here in MT. I was missing getting to use the crock pot. So this is whats for dinner. I put a whole chicken in the pot, added fresh garden onions, garden potatoes, bay leaves, celery salt , pepper and garlic. We will have steamed garden zuchinni on the side and German chocolate cake for dessert.

Hmmm. Went on another one of my sleuthing missions and see that Tutter hasn't posted since July 27th. I hope everything is OK.

A Chicken Round-up with Chorizo Tacos sounds yummy! Nothin' better than that! So, did you try the Chicken Pozole?

I don't usually cook on Friday's, but I have a bunch of sweet corn ready to be picked so I'm going to make BBQ burgers and sweet corn for dinner.

We're having cheese quesadillas and cold black bean & corn salad. What's funny is that we're having it for dinner because my husband saw it when I packed it up last night for my daughter's lunch today, and said, "Can I have that?."

Here is the kid's lunch version, packed into a "Laptop Lunchbox" bento-style box.

Yes.. this is what concerns me, as well. (I peeked, too) Hopefully, she's just on vacation or taking a break from cyberville or something else that is not health or home related ...well, you know what I mean. I hope she's okay.

I didn't try the Pozole yet, but I intend to.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that avoids cooking on Fridays. It just seems like a good a day as any to take a break from the kitchen

It hit above 90 today, so we had a chopped Isreali salad with homemade pita bread and falafel. Obviously I'm stuck in Middle Eastern cuisine, after the Turkish zucchini fritters last night.

Out to eat somewhere tomorrow since we're moving DD into her college apt..

You'd think since this is her 5th yr (starting grad school) I could do this without tears!

I too am concerned for Tutter. That's a long time without posting. I'm hoping that they may not have restored electricity to her area yet?

Tutter, if you get a chance, please give a quick post and let us know you're ok.

Tonight, DH made:
Pulled Pork with BBQ Sauce
Cole slaw
Al-gratin potatoes
Green peas.

I'm so full.
I'll have to roll myself to the kitchen for a bowl of Blue Bell Ice cream.

I cannot wait for next summer so that my side dishes are home grown instead of out of the box and can!

Well I can't cook again the refrigerator repair man is coming tomorrow. So we went to a bar & grill on the way home from picking up a friend at logan.
I had chicken parm
with garlic bread and zitti

I'm just tired of cooking today. Had one of my son's an his family over today. First I made taco Salad fixins and homemade salsa. I had already cooked a pot of peas in a cast iron boiler and then some okra. I had some fresh frozen creamed corn that we cooked and I put a Roast in the oven in a cast iron dutch oven. Made a scrumptious Fruit Salad and a Homemade Sour Cream Pound Cake. I don't think I will cook tomorrow. Just kidding. I have some fresh Collard greens I am cooking for lunch tomorrow and going to make some good ole cornbread to go with them. I may have to hunt up a sweet Tator from somewhere

Lawd, have mercy, Ms. Julie, you just flung a craving on me something fierce. I'm not one to go and invite myself on no one but................... if I lived close to you I'd be setting on your back door steps like an old hound dog.

Collard greens and cornbread with sweet taters. OMG! When a feller can eat that good it makes me wonder what the rich folks eat.
