I made a yummy Shepards Pie for the first time last night! It was good but a little too garlicy for me. Next time I will tone it down. I followed this recipe from Allrecipes.com

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Shepherds-Pie-VI/Detail.aspx?prop31=1

Edit to Add: I Followed some of the Review peoples Suggestions, like Use the brown gravy instead of the Beef broth! It turned out real yummy this way!

Also, this was Last nights, Tonight I will be making a Fast and simple Chicken Alfredo with mixed pasta shells. Of course I am using canned Alfredo and chicken...So I am taking the easy was out on this one.... But its probably just me tonight..

We're having fetucine alfredo with mild italian sausage in the sauce and a salad with garden fresh veggies. Cake for dessert.

We're having alfredo to use up some of the heavy whipping cream I posted a thread about earlier. Still have lots left to use.

wow, you all eat really good sounding food.

We're having spaghetti with our first fresh from the garden sauce this year, and left over potato and dandelion curry (potatoes from the garden, dandelions from the yard) with rice and cherry tomatos from a friend's garden on the side.

Fresh Corn Cakes from July Southern Living, homemade Spinach Hummus, Whole-Wheat Pita.

I highly recommend the SL Corn Cakes recipe. It's on their website. It's a good way to use your fresh eggs! We used some of the corn we put in the freezer from the farmer's market earlier in the summer, and a batch of fresh raw goat's milk mozzarella. YUM.

They're also good cold--the flavor of the black pepper really comes out. I packed some in a bento box for my daughter's lunch and snacks at school tomorrow.

You all were missed as well. I went way back to page 203 and read forward to make sure I didn't miss anything!

Monica - I'm soooo sorry to read of your dad's death. I hope you're hanging in there OK and leaning on the shoulders of those closest to you. Hugs!

We were gone for a couple of weeks camping up in Washington State. It was great fun and we ate lots of yummy things that I won't detail since I'd be typing all day!

This week I've made roasted Country French chicken, catfish, and breakfast for dinner. Tonight I'm taking the leftovers from the Country French chicken and making a Country French chicken chowder.

Gotta love reformed leftovers!

Glad to be back!

I hope you took lots of pics to share with us!

The last couple days, we've had fresh Poblano Cheese Tamales (I bought them from a very nice lady, locally), spanish rice, Chorizo tacos, and my version of a Santa Fe succotash type thingy

I think I'll make s'ghetti tonight ...with some cheater sauce and fresh veggies, shrooms and italian sausages sauteed in..

tunaoftheland.. would you mind elaborating on your potatoes and dandelion curry? It sounds interesting and we are cuckoo for curry around these parts... (we, being DH and I)

Annesa's Muse -

No, I don't think I did. I did wave in her general direction as I was passing by on the 5, tho. Maybe I scared her away.

We saw a lot of smoke from that direction on the way back. I hope it's not affecting her.

You know, I haven't even looked at my photos yet. I know, bad.

Thanks for the reminder about spaghetti. I made that this week, too.

Chorizo tacos are my favorite! Yum!

Glad you had fun and welcome back!

We had a light dinner tonight, Turkish zucchini fritters topped with a garlicky yogurt sauce, sliced tomato and hard boiled egg for garnish. Delish, and a different way of using those pesky zucchinis!

Too bad the eggs were'nt from the girls yet (17 wks old). While harvesting the garden, I recited my list of favorite chicken recipes to them...... chicken kiev, chicken and dumplings, chicken etoufee, chicken noodle soup.....do you think they got the hint?

well I'm not cooking for a while, and this is why...
Tuesday we had a storm, something called a microburst hit my road, The rain was horizontal and it was hailing, and thunder and lightning ,very exciting. Well the wind blew a branch onto our service and knocked the neutral off the house. Big Pop noise and then a burning smell.
So the lights were flickering some stuff was out some things seemed fine.
I went down cellar to flip the breakers back on and darn thing bit me.
Yes I know I should not have had bare feet and the floor was kind of wet.
So anyway it fried the fridge the microwave my I-home for my Ipod, the alarm c lock. A small tv the phone's.
So now I can't cook, oh well went to olive garden with SIL and MIL had seafood portafino,

and pasta fazule soup,
yum yum
oh and the coffee pot is toast too! Now that's just wrong I need my coffee!

Hi Happy,
Thanks it wasn't too bad like touching an electric fence, but I won't do that again Hubby said I'm lucky I'm not dead.
I think he exagerates but since he's a lineman and plays with electricity for a living, I guess I'll takes his word for it.
And yeah my homeowner's policy is a $250 deductible and I have replacement cost coverage.
Oh and for everyone out there get a surge protector on your TV and puter. That got fried too but the Big screen is fine and If my laptop was plugged in I would have lost it. I'm going to get a surge protector for that too. It's worth the $60.

And tip that probably save me from getting bit worse, DH says whenever you touch the breaker box. Always put one hand behind your back.
If both hands are touching the box, you are completing the circuit.and the electricity goes in one hand and out the other. It gets confusing but he teaches electrical theory so I guess he knows what he's talking about
