Take a look at my menu and tell me if it looks good or not. Pretty please?

Looks like an excellent menu to me. My kind of eating. You just can't beat pinto beans, turnip greens and cornbread.

Tonight I made chicken pot pies.

BearSwampChick, I think that's a wonderful menu. You made sure that each day was totally different, yet complete. Very nice planning! And don't say there's no dessert the 2nd night, of course there is....ice cream, like the night before.....if anyone can fit it! ; ) Wow, I'm sorry I'm missing it!

Backyard Buddies, those both sound really good! Have you ever made baby artichokes, before they have chokes? Mmmmm!

As for meatball sandwiches, big favorite with me. When I was expecting my 2nd baby, we'd walk quite a ways (good for me, and the dog we took with us!) to a family owned pizza place that had the best meatball sandwiches; to give in to my craving for them.

Yogi, are things still busy there? Your meal didn't suffer, if so....sounds good!

Oh, wait, you also had corned beef! I have that, believe it or not, as Christmas dinner....and any other time I can get by with it! Do you cook it whole? I do, and have perfected a spice mix for the pot. Don't tell me if there are leftovers. It will be difficult to plant these new vegetables, and work on the new coop, if I'm on a plane to La.!

Seismic Wonder2, I remember them also, though I've not eaten there in years, either. How nice that you have figured out how to replicate it!

Have to come and check on my pal Yogi!!!! Hugs

Cabbage & Sausage for supper with sweet tea and brownies for dessert. Still suffering the can't cook cornbread blues but otherwise the supper was good!

OK, I was reading this thread, getting all upset with myself since I can't cook, and then, cjeanean comes along, and I don't feel so alone!!!

I thought I was the only one who did ramen for dinner! All the rest of y'all make such full, complete meals! Wow, I made homemade pizza tonight, and the kids thought it was a feast!!! No peanut butter is a real winner for them!!!

Not always. Most of us take shortcuts from time to time and that's OK! I usually cook a couple of bigger meals a week, then reinvent them into leftovers that look nothing like the original. It saves me time and saves me money.

And, to prove my point that we don't always cook such full and complete meals, tonight was breakfast for dinner (as all Wednesdays are) for which we had 6 grain hot cereal and juice.

Home made pizza was far more energetic than what I made!

Hi ya'll,
We had roast with gravy and all the fiixings...followed by hot fudge sundae's...
I did not fix any bread but lightbread, it was too hot...had been working the garden, working on the coop, and mulitude of other things...I could have put bread in when I cooked the roast, but was a busy day on the phone as well, counseled two different ladies.

Plan on Pork chops tomorrow.

Last night we had stuffed beef roll, it's basically meatloaf patted out flat I then laid sliced cream cheese on it then spread basmati rice flavored with beef bullion mixed with chopped celery(I usually use gr. pepper but was out) and shredded cheese(this time I used a mix of mild cheddar, colby jack and swiss). Then I roll it up and stick it in a baking dish. I opened up a can of cr. of mushroom soup for a quick gravy and we had corn, and milk to drink.

Tonight, I'm not sure as of yet, we have open house at the school tonight.

That sounds AWESOME! Thanks for the little recipe, we'll have to try it.

We had venison soup last night with pull apart parmesan and garlic rolls.

Tonight will be marinated steaks, potatos and corn.

Things are so busy here. Working on the new coop and run, a brooder cage, the big garden, and now I'm overwhelmed with containers, compost and plants/seeds up here by the house. To be honest, I didn't have dinner last night, which is unlike me, due to blood sugar issues. I nibbled on crackers and cream cheese around 3, fell asleep before dinner time, and didn't get up until after midnight.

Tonight we are having simple lemon chicken; rice cooked with broth; green salad, and corn on the cob.
