Rotisserie chicken ..red taters roasted with fresh garden herbs ..corn ...and some kind of greens

I marinate my hen with a little sea salt, fresh ground pepper, tiny bit of olive oil, worcestshire sauce and some bbq sauce in a vaccuum sealed bag or a big ziploc ...for at least an hour, but more is better.

It gives the bird just enough flavor without overpowering it.. and it's the juiciest I've had yet!

Enjoy Sunday dinner, everyone!!

OMG!!! Leave ya'll alone for one day and you're making pizza, pasta, bread and your own cheese!!!! How cool is that!!! Holy cow..ordering that!!!!!!!!!!! Did ya'll post a bread recipe..hint, hint..did not see that..poodles..coming to live with you..clean up the spare bedroom..be there about the time that cheese gets done!!!

Dinner at my house will not be nearly as exciting!! I have a turkey breast (skin removed, olive oil salt and pepper) baking in my dutch oven pan and black eyed peas in the crock pot..probaby put turkey slices on toast with gravy and the peas with chow chow on the side..sweet tea.

One of DS bands has decided to practice on Sundays for the summer - not too happy about that, but I seem to have been out voted. So, Sunday meals will be earlier. Tonight we're having a Frittata w/pancetta, spinach, feta and pine nuts, a big green salad, and garlic bread. For dessert, I'm trying a new recipe from a Barefoot Contessa cookbook - Lemon-Yogurt Cake (kind of like a pound cake) with some sliced strawberries.
Tutter - sorry to hear things are so bad your way. The smoke started clearing out today. We still have about 20 fires going around our area, but I guess we caught a bit of the delta breeze so it's moved some of the smoke out. Feel sorry for those who live wherever it went, but am glad it went! Hope things clear up for you soon. Be safe.

first , everyone in California stay safe.

we are having squash , zuchini, purple onion, and little red potatoes ,drizzled with olive oil and salt and pepper. in a foil pouch on the grill with a grilled hamsteak.
We have been working in the yard all day and too tired for anything else.

We are having Roasted chicken, Tomato Pie and some sort of Vegetable.

Tomato- shrimp Pie
Bake 1 Deep Dish Pie shell for 10 Min's and let cool slightly.
Peel 2-3 lg tomatoes, slice into thick pieces, salt and let drain on paper towels.
Saute 1/2 lb. of shrimp in olive oil with some chopped garlic, basil, salt and pepper, drain on paper towels.
Mix 8 oz. of shredded cheddar cheese with 1/2 cup mayo, or more to suit taste.

Put drained tomatoes in bottom of pie shell, top with shrimp then cover with cheese mixture. Bake at 350 for 30 to 40 min.

Edited to Add: You do not have to use the shrimp in it but it is so good with them in it.

With the vidalia onions out, I decided to make French onion soup tonight. I have it with cheesy toast, and a salad.

YUMMMM!!! I LOVE French onion soup! Set another place, Tutter. I'm heading up your way! Sounds delicious!

I still haven't decided what to make for dinner, but now that I'm heading to Tutter's, maybe I don't need to!

Oh well. Since I didn't get the invitation to Tutter's

, I decided to make a chef's salad and home made French bread instead. Perhaps I'll save some of the bread and make my own French onion soup tomorrow.
