Hey Grandpa, What's For Supper?

I put about 3 slabs of ribs drenched in BBQ sauce in the smoker around 2:00 today. Took 'em out at 6:00, added some saucy potatoes, green beans, rolls and apple crumb pie. I had about 5 servings of ribs left over, so I wrapped them in foil and stuck them in the freezer.

I split a very thick filet of Sashimi (Yellow tail) ..from 1.25" thickness, originally ..sauted a little chunky tomato sauce with olive oil and sea salt, cracked pepper and a chopped red sweet pepper ...shook a little blackening season on the now "two" filets ...and simmered until just tender.

Boiled a few Cappanelli (sp?) pasta and added butter, little milk, some fresh cracked pepper and mediterranean salt ..grated a couple ounces of cheese and threw in some petit green peas and broccoli florets..

That was dinner... and for totally wingin' it, turned out pretty good

Tonight was zilch, nothing, nadda. I was in San Diego at a convention all day and didn't get home til 7:30. Plus we had a HUGE mexican meal at around 2. But boy did I get a boatload of freebies. I love conventions for that alone. One vendor even had pizza cutters!

Ok, you got my mouth actually watering with that one. YUM!!!

Today I dressed out two hind quarters of mule deer that my dad brought back from a hunting trip to Wyoming. Whew! Its kind of a zen- butchering thing that I dig though. Anyway, we are going to have fresh home fried taters and onions, fried eggs and some mule deer cutlets. Then I am going to collapse. With a glass of wine in my paw.

edited for horrific spelling due to wine...

Henrietta23- thanks for the inspriration! I was planning quiche for tommorow, but couldn't decide what kind. Since crab is pricey here, I think I'll sub with salmon.

Fresh tomato/basil soup tonight with grilled salami and Provolone on homebaked olive oil bread. we had a light frost last night which had me scrambling in the garden.

Yum! Everyone's dinners sound delicious tonight!

We're going simple this evening. It's going to be Sloppy Joe's and buttered corn as we watch the presidential debate.

Edited 'cuz I can't spell tonight. I've had a headache all day.

Sloppy Joes and corn is one of my sons favs! It all sounds good. I made a big pot of vegtable soup and fresh homemade honey wheat rolls. Whew! I am glad I checked my spelling before I hit send. I had a badly placed r in the word honey! Like Backyard buddies, I have an awful headache too. The wind has been howling ALL day, I am blaming it on that!

Glad you spell-checked chickenchick!

Soup and homemade rolls sounds yummy, too.

I hope your headache feels better soon. I wonder if wind is my issue as well. There certainly is a weather thing going on here today. At 5pm as I type, it's 91 degrees outside right now. . . and I live only 3 miles from the ocean! This is October here in So. Cal. It gets hot, then the winds start (I don't like Santa Ana's), then the fires start (or are started) then the rains come which brings the floods. But, despite all that, I love this time of year.

up some broccoli florets, fresh garlic and red sweet peppers with some of the previously frozen grilled chicken breasts ..and added a little cornstarch, teensy bit of water, Soy Vey's Hoisin Garlic sauce/marinade ...and rice is nuking.

I hope the headache sufferers feel better soon!!
