thechickenchick.. I found this site for Pheasant Recipes

Some of those recipes sound really good, but I have yet to try them. I'm still wishing my DH would hunt

This weekend is deer opening day for rifle, but we are busy all weekend. Hopefully DH will be able to go out next weekend. Him and his boss are going to come in late on alternating weds. so they can go hunting.

Thank you. I am feeling better this morninig. I finally took 2 tylenol PM, put in ear plugs to block out the wind and went to sleep!

Backyard buddies, How is you head this morning? Better I hope. When I was a kid my Mom said the wind would give her a headache. I never understood that, but I know she wasn't kidding! 91 degrees! It is 35 here and I swear I can feel snow flakes in the wind. We are supose to have snow by friday.

Thanks! Yes, I'm feeling much better today. I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better as well, chickenchick. If I took 2 Tylenol PM's I'm sure I'd feel tons better. I can't take more than a half of one to completely put me out.

I just kept drinking tons of water all day then had a glass of wine after supper. I was much better after that!

It's still quite warm out there, but no winds have made it this way at all. If anything, it's dead still. We're close to the ocean so we don't tend to get the winds as bad as those who live further inland. Sounds like that's where you were Hennypennies. Ugh. It's awful, isn't it? But, the good thing is that it's most common in the fall, so at least it's limited. But, I'd rather have it near snowing like chickenchick is experiencing. A nice bowl of soup would be great.

I do Mexican casserole in the crockpot sometimes. Use the tortillas to layer the other ingredients. Do you have any corn? You could put that with those ingredients to stretch it even further. How about some canned tomatoes or some enchilada sauce? That'd give it some moisture.

It'll be breakfast for dinner tonight, here.

Thanks BYB! I didn't find a can of corn but I did find a can of rotel(diced tomatoes with green chilies). I have it all put tohether and will put it in the oven to heat when DH calls and says he is on his way!

A huge thank you! I checked it out and there are some that sound really good. We hope to have pheasant in the freezer by saturday night. I will let you know how cooking my first one goes!

We allow an elderly couple to hunt on our land for antelope and birds. They have a son that lives in Alaska, so in turn for permission to hunt they bring us salmon and halibut they catch when they stay with him. They brought us a bag full yesterday! DH is looking forward to smoking some. I am just glad the freezer isn't empty any more!

Everyone's been eating such delicious sounding meals! Yuummm

We had a salmon, and chive quiche, tossed green salad, and homebaked French bread tonight. Baked apples with vanilla ice cream for dessert.

but what if it was soooo good,, you had to have leftovers the next day too ,,,, id have to be on low carb fer a week

Don't make me laugh.
