Hey Grandpa, What's For Supper?

Had a small chef salad at work. Ate a bowl of my husband's 'cheeseburger soup' when I got home. First time he made it, got the recipe from his boss. It was 'okay', though I appreciated his effort more than the actual meal. It was a bit heavy for me. And I don't care much for rice in soup.

the Pats are playing! I'ts appetizer day!!
bruschetta on baguettes with fresh motzarella toasted in the oven. cheese and crackers, buffalo wings, chicken fingers and pizza. and anything else I can think of.

chicknmania- The class is at a gun shop. They hold different classes there all the time. They have an indoor range and close by an outdoor range.

Last night was a starparty so we had cheses, crackers, and meats, olives, wine, and hot choolate!

Tonight, not sure yet, I think a salmon casserole.

Someone slipped me some MSG..

Beware the restaurants that claim they don't use it ...some actually do and don't realize the severity of the allergic reaction in some people...

Hubby has been eating out and I have been eating Imitrex

I have chicken thighs in the crockpot mixed with cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soup and the house smells heavenly. Gonna make mashed potatoes to go with it. Probably corn. I am so hungry!!!

Aneesa - your dinner plans are killing me!

I've been craving butter chicken for about 2 weeks and now my mouth is watering. If you weren't so far I'd be knocking at your door and tactfully trying to angle an invite to dinner! Sorry about the MSG reaction. It's such a common umami that restaurants forget to list it.

I did a summer gig for a large caterer that had booked a very large and VERY expensive Indian (from India) wedding. The bride rode in on a white horse! Anyway, the women descended on the kitchen and I was blessed to learn to cook some of the most traditional and awesome dishes from them. The kitchen smelled of toasted spices for a week!

BBQ pork loin, acorn squash with honey and butter, homemade mac and cheese, apple sauce and the last of the fresh tomatoes from the garden. Looks like the garden is all done for fresh food this year. We have a "stuffed" freezer and veggies in cold storage.

Now we can get down to playing.....HIKING!!!!!!!

My hubby is my inspiration to learn to cook all these various ethnic foods ...he likes to eat ..I like to cook (most days) ...and I am very adventurous in the kitchen. And.. since he is spoiled and prefers MY cooking, he often asks me to learn how to make "this ...or that.. " when we have something interesting at a restaurant or some community function.

That sounds fantastic! We had deep fried halibut. We have some hunters that bring us fish from Alaska for permission to hunt our land! I say we are getting a good deal! I made rice pilaf and baked beans to go with it.

Tonight is still a question. It is mother hubbards cupboard around here until tomorrow. I have some homemade meatballs in the freezer, tomato paste, pasta, and mozzerella cheese. I will try to get somewhere with that unless someone has a great idea to share with me!
