Awwwww. I'm sorry happyhen! I hope you feel better soon. Why is it that little kids can fall, shed a few tears, and pop back up good as new? Gee. If I fall down nowadays, I can hurt for days!

I hope you and the pup feel better soon!

Tonight we're having salmon patties, brown and wild rice, steamed zucchini, and maybe some of the sourdough bread we didn't use up the other day.

Dh said he wanted to make his homemade tomato soup tonight. I will do the grilled cheese! Not gourmet but it will be yummy. We got our first snow storm today so soup and sandwiches will be perfect.

BB - thanks. My young adult kids keep reminding me I could break a hip,

!I remind them I brought them into this world and can take them out, or worse yet, stop paying college tuition!

Our pup is usually very attuned to us and has been trained to both verbal and hand commands. He feels so bad and has been my "protector" since the "oopsie", not letting me out of his sight. What a good boy!

I wonder if I can train him to dial 911 when I break my hip!

'Cause they have nice mommies that kiss the boo boos all better. And since we're those nice mommies, it's hard for us to reach all the owies.

Is THAT the reason why?!! And, I thought it was gettin' older!

So, did they notice the green chilies in the meatloaf?

happyhen.. I hope you are feeling better and no soreness and so on today. Those darn "kids" get so worked up and excited ..they forget we don't tumble so well after awhile

I think today will be Enchiladas with some of the crock pot beans on the side ..or Burritos with some INside

...but only if the migraine stays on the left today ..otherwise, I am down for the count again

Have a good weekend, everyone!

Heck no! didn't even notice, there was too much cheese in the meatloaf! Note to those who put cheese in the meatloaf, when using velveeta, use half of what you think is enough! I usually use sharp cheese, this time, wasn't thinking, and sliced velveeta, 5 slices is just too much!

happy hen...I sure hope you are not too sore today. I remember falling during a game of basketball with my son when he was about 8. (he will be 14 on Monday!) My first thought was , "When did the ground get SO hard!?" My second was "tomorrow is really going to hurt!" Soak in the tub, and if you arn't adverse to a little wine, that always makes a bath perfect!

skand...I have been cooking meatloaf for 20 years and finally added cheese (velveeta) to it a couple of weeks ago. My family LOVED it! Next time I will sneak in some green chilies and see what happens!

Tonight is my MILs recipe for Hungarian Goulash. Every time I make it my DH says , its close, but your not there yet!! I think he just likes to eat my "mistakes"!!!!

That's funny skand! Maybe next time you can cut down the cheese and increase the chilies.

All this talk of meatloaf makes me want to try some. I don't make it much as I ODed on it as a kid. My mom, the daughter and granddaughter of caterers, never learned to cook because she was too busy eating the leftovers of the Hollywood parties that my greats were bringing home from work. So, her idea of meatloaf was to mix in some egg and chopped onion, smash it into the pan and dump ketchup all over the top of it.

I've made it a few times for my family, but it's just not somewhere that I go to anywhere near the top of my list. It is time, tho.

How are you feeling today happyhen?

The rest of everyone's goodies sound yummy tonight as well. I'm not cooking, but I have no idea what I'm eating yet. One kid has to be at an event on one end of town and the other one is at an event (band performance) on the other end of town. Sometime in between there hubby and I will grab something to eat before we start making the rounds again. Geez. If we're going to actually get the time for a date night, it'd be nice if it were longer than 45 minutes. That leaves just about enough time for fast food, not a nice dinner.

BYB... You mentioned ketchup on your meatloaf. I always used tomato sauce until my DH wanted me to do it the way his Mom did. This sounds weird but it is really yummy. It gets kind of carmelized and gooey! Mix maple syrup and ketchup. I use equall amounts of each, mix it up good and pour over the top!
