Found no light at home, so just had to use my phones flash light. Here are some of my chickens, I am pretty sure you will know their breed.

Greetings and welcome to BYC! So glad you joined us. :clap I guess you don't have to worry about chicken math... you obviously have a PhD in it! Best wishes for a successful business enterprise. You said you've been looking at the site, so you already know there's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

Oh, if you haven't done so already, PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me :old will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!
I just updated my location.

So, my chickens started laying eggs today morning, though small eggs, how long does it take for them to start laying much bigger eggs?
It depends on the breed. They will be sporadic at first with laying. They will have an egg laying cycle--2 to 7 eggs and then an new cycle. The eggs get bigger with each cycle until they get to Large or xtra large usually. It takes a month to two months.

At age 1.5(usually the fall of their second year) they have a molt and usually stop laying eggs for 4 to 6 weeks. When they start back up, the eggs are usually bigger

Love eggs from a backyard Flock!
