Good evening (Eastern Time, Maine, USA)! I just became a member here after using this site for a few months now. I became a first time chicken mama to 10 BO chicks at the end of May. My babies are 2 months old now and I’m really enjoying learning everything I can about them!

My name is Kristen but I enjoy my username too I added a picture of me with “my” chick that I affectionately named “Nugget” because she was smaller than all the other chicks. She’s about 2 weeks old in the picture

Thank you all so much! I am already obsessed, as this is my first round of chicks/hens, and I can’t wait to expand further!!! My main goal was to have them lay and then after they stop, replace them and put them in my freezer. I’ve heard lots of mixed messages about the toughness that would be associated with a 2yr old hen being used for meat but, I’m going to give it a whirl. Nothing an instant pot can’t fix
