I found this incredibly helpful site after a frantic late night web search. It seems that my son at only 11, took it upon himself to acquire 10 week-old chicks last night without asking for permission. I have zero clue where he got them from, so returning them is out of the question. But, I decided fresh eggs are great, we have the space, let's give it a shot! I've never had chickens before, and can definitely use any and all advice. We're in the process now of looking into coop and run design ideas for the High Desert.

Well, I've certainly been learning a lot today. I just keep reminding myself, fresh eggs are awesome. Plus the kiddo has taken most of the responsibility *YAY* and is diligently caring for and clenning their pastey butts.
