Hey ! Im new here , had chickens for a while now , but only recently started to incubate eggs

Hey there 👋

What have you been incubating? I just hatched some Olive Eggers. I like them, but they’re not the best (or the worst) layers so I’m wondering if I should even hatch more right now, but they are so cute!!

Where are you from? And what breeds do you have?
 
Hey ! I'm actually trying a few different breeds at the moment , I have a few White Plymouth Rocks , a few different types of Orpingtons , but my fav are my Lavender Booted Bamtams! I'm trying to kind of make my own breed at the moment , I live in South Africa , and I'm a Orthodontic dental technologist, but my practice is on the farm , so I work from home ! Olive Eggers are super cute aswell !

Oh nice! Eventually I want to get into making my own breed for home use not to sell, but right now we are just trying to hatch them according to their breed. I do have some mixes but not by choice.

What are you looking for in a breed? If I ever hatch specific chicks I want a good layer that is beautiful and possibly some meat on them. I have White Leghorns but I am just tired of the plain white color, no offense to them.
