Hey all. I'm a newbie. My dad had a small homestead when I was a kid. I always wanted to homestead. I've done research and tried to prepare, but never lived somewhere that allowed it. We have a little land now and my family and I decided to raise some chickens.

I will be building my own coop and sharing my journey here. I also plan to share my journey of our little "homestead ".

We also like pokemon and magic the gathering and marvel and harry potter and star wars and museums and history and antiques and zoos and nature

We have a Learning Center you might like. It's full of helpful articles about raising chicks and chickens. There's also a Coop forum to get ideas and in some cases, complete with instructions how to build some of them.

And there are also a couple of places you can keep a "diary" of sorts or blog of your progress, and one is here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/pictures-stories-of-my-chickens.39/ You just start it off and that's your own thread you can share with friends and family too.
