My roo sidles up to a hen he's interested in and if she pecks at him then he kicks back. I've also seen the roo and one of the hens jump into the air and kick one another (Grandpa called this spurring). It's all normal and just means the ladies are trying to make him chill out and he's being a rebellious teenager. A little fighting is okay. If some one bleeds or looses a LOT of feathers, then you may have to step in.
