Thanks for the info, yeah so an update on the foot and comb issues:
3 days later, her foot seems to be healing nicely, and yeah all I did was trim some of the original scab away and I have been wrapping it. For the first couple of days I rinsed it with salt water and then squeezed some Neopsporin onto a gauze pad and wrapped it. Today I just rinsed it again and wrapped it with a dry pad. Tomorrow I will probably rinse it again and then just leave it. It isn't showing any signs of swelling or redness or infection. I am going to check it routinely to make sure it doesn't get infected.
As to the combs, 3 of my hens had the whitish tips...they seem to have sloughed off somehow and the skin seems to have come off on part of the tip revealing red, tender looking skin...not sure if it is just dead skin coming off from some frostbite which is what I normally suspected, or some kind of small blistering...anyone with similar experience, feel free to chime in...again just going to keep watching
