Hey! New here, looking for Silkie "experts"

I see white tips, and it looks very similar to some of the red splits I have here 🤷

Maybe not....
I maybe able to get more pictures later, he's got more bars now. Barred birds can get white in tips as well.

Is it possible he is split to mottling?
Here's more pictures. He's Barred.

Still

Still Looks like mottling to me. I see random white on feathers and mostly just white tips. What I don't see is organized barring.

Do you have pictures of the parents by any chance?
I'll get better pictures. It's not mottling.

Barring isn't always organized, I've had some funky Barred birds before.

No parent pictures, he's a TSC chick.

These are home bred, these are at 8 weeks old, & the barring is unorganized. From 2021.

It's not barring...
I see one line of positive white on each feather in the same stage.
Unevenly barred birds have "off white" markings and they always have more than one bar!

Here's two feathers with two bars, & they aren't just one line. I offered to get better pictures.

My pullet from 2021 had solid breast feathers, little to no bars there.

Yeah, buff does tend to obscure barring, especially in pullets. But his neck isn't barred at all, and that's the first place you should see barring.
