Lynn, thanks for sharing. Im very happy to see that dark colored roo.
Cruzin'T, you are a lucky duck. I'd be more happy for you if I wasn't so darn jealous
Rebecca, they are def cochins. I would guess a mottled and a buff. I don't see vulture hocks yet. Im sure they won't be show quality, but some hatcheries are better than others. Regardless, they will make great pets. Cochins are known for their friendliness and adorable personalities. They make great mothers and the best buddies and won't be bigger than most other bantams.
Ok, I have to have some!!!! I think I want standard size, but since the kids are now starting their own "flocks" of bantams, maybe I should add to their flock. All I know is I HAVE TO HAVE THEM!!!
I will be cleaning the GopherBator today, and hopefully can find someone that will send me some eggs soon!!!!
It's official! MFC eggs arrived this afternoon. Perfectly packed and undamaged, I might add! Carefully inspected and scrutinized!
The doz went into the executive corner of my #2 incubator @ 2:40PM. Temperature steady @ 100.1 and RH hovering around 63 (someone let me know if I got something wrong here!
)
Countdown and nail biting have commenced! Can't let cruzinTbird have all the fun!
My F1 pullets are starting to get red in the combs and today I saw my F1 cockerel make a half hearted attempt to hold onto the hackles of one of the girls, so I pulled him out of there and put Mr Mille in with them, so i would know for SURE that any babies would either be MF (or MF-ish) or mottled split to MF, no unkonwn splits. pretty soon... pretty sooooonnnn...... cross your fingers for me.
