Tlfpets I beleive your mille birds came from Ralph, along with most of ours. Your breeding is similarly based and no need to scrap anything you like. Culling for quality, always a good idea. Culling because you don't know the background, not neccessary in my book, especially in your case. I think you are working with the same gene pool that Tbird has, and w--- in SanDiego, Amazondoc, me, and many other fanciers. He got a lot of birds and eggs sent out last year and a lot of people are sticking with the project. You are in good company, and cut from the very same bolt of cloth!!! Get a'hatchin, and that's an ORDER!!! LOL

Okay!! You're the boss! Since these are grown ups, I shall! I have their quarters, just need the higher fencing. I have flight netting for the top to keep unwanted "guests" like other roosters from visiting their yard too.

I actually got a better look at the pullets yesterday, one is showing much better patterning than when she was peeping, I really like her! She lives with Mr. Frizzy right now...but that can be fixed....

Its not so much their back ground as What they look like....I didnt know if they were really mille fleur or not? They look more buff or cream, sme Mottled, but have some teeny bit of black in the buff and white mottled...so I didnt know??
These are the girls and one of the hens.

Answer to your question about feather sexing As far as I know the answer is .....no Wish it were possible but the best way I know of is to watch the combs and wattles Roos will have darker and more developed than the hens Or you could use the sure fire method Wait till they crow or lay an egg

I don't know why... but I am pretty sure it's a boy!

I have 19 more eggs coming from Lynne so, it dosen't really matter.

We have had cochins that have come as day olds sexed so I was just curisous...

The hatcheries have professional sexers come in and sex chicks But they arent 100% They know what and where to look for what and they are better than the average person But still..they are not 100%

One is a TINY little black thing, but he/she is just as active as everyone else so I think it'll be okay!

Also, I've been looking at my 3 week old babies. I'm getting really excited about one of them in particular. Even at just 3 weeks, you can see little black/white spangles on most of the feathers across its back. I can't wait to see how it matures. Pics in a day or so!
