That's 4 different pullets -- LP8, LP11, LP12, LP14. Lower numbers are older birds.

There's 30-something chicks altogether. Haven't banded em all yet!

They're looking good Doc.

Cicene mete, you've got a nice looking Cockerel there. Keep updating us on how it develops.

F3's are popping out all over the place here in Msbearland

I have about 20 eggs from my F2's and stuck them under 4 different broodies

...hated seeing them so sad and deprived

I have one blonde and two dark browns (not chipmunked) w/ lighter faces. Im very thrilled about them. I have 4 or 5 pipped and a few zipped. We will have a photo shoot tomorrow evening when everyone's fluffed and puffed.

Is everyone enjoying summer? Glorious here. It is the peak of our warm season...85 degree days, 60 degree nights and a break in afternoon showers most days. My husband is starting to mow our hayfield today and we walked out in it for our "stretch" this morning...the native grasses are taller than me! Don't think we've ever seen it so high. On the downside, we found a large patch of thistles that also has thrived in the wet summer.

A couple of photos to share today...

One of my young pullets, still filling out:

And my youngest rooster, Hidalgo, out of Lynne's Hillary:

Well...if you are interested in eggs, I may have a few available later this summer or into the fall, if you want to check back.
