I have one that I'm pretty sure is a duccle, as it looks to have a beard

I have 9 chicks I don't know for sure on, lol. All have the poss. of being cochin, duccle, serama, and OEGB.... I am pretty sure on two as being OEGB but everything else im like duh... lol

Thanks to all who have shared pictures & given compliments regarding my contribution to the Mille Fleur Cochin. I have been so pleased this Spring to have so many people happy with their hatches.

We all know this is a work in progress but I "think" we might be seeing an increase in quality birds. Tom Roebuck has been instrumental in my birds developing such good type. Thank you Tom!

As for color, it is getting better every generation. I hope to be hatching some F3's next month if the girls are in agreement.

It is my wish to have us all strive to promote this beautiful bird through the sharing of knowledge.

Thank you for letting me be a part of this great project.

Im guessing my babies are around 2 months. Im very happy with them. They are already looking like beautiful young birds ...totally skipped that awkward teenage look

Monarch23, I think you have d'uccles and mixed cochins. A lot of people call d'uccles "mille fleurs" when in fact that is just the variety ...not the breed. Kinda like when people call tissues, "kleenex."

So, the breeder you bought your eggs from says she has cochins and mille fleurs, etc. that doesn't mean she has "mille fleur cochins" They are pretty rare in the US. She may have crosses which is different as well.

They are very cute chicks whatever they may be.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I’ve finally added a couple of new pictures to my blog www.joshsbantams.com if you want to check them out. I’m going to try and take some more pictures this week of the younger chicks and older breeders I have. I can’t seem to get the weather to cooperate here. It keeps jumping from 65 down to 25 in one day….
Happy Spring

By the way, what is the proper way to spell Millie Fleur Cochins? I see Milli Fleur, Mille Fleur, Millifleur, Millefleur and of course Millie Fleur Cochin. Which one is the right one? Just curious….

Josh

You have it right- "Mille Fleur" is the right spelling for the color .Then whatever the breed that has this coloration- Mille Fleur d'Uccle , Mille Fleur Cochin, etc. .

Hey everyone! Happy to see that there's such a stir going on for Mille Fleur. They're beautiful!

Our eight fuzzy bottoms hatched 3/16 have lost almost all their fuzz and are starting to color up nicely. I'll get them to pose for me and send some pics tomorrow.

Keep the pics coming! Thanks!
