Hi, We've decided that fresh eggs are something that we want on tap and after a bunch of reading it was decided we would have a go at this whole chicken raising thing ;) I've gotten a lot of info from this site so I thought it was time to join as we picked up our chicks last night from TSC. We got 3 leghorns, 3 Tetra browns and 2 Plymouth Rocks so said the signs on the brooders in the store. I started construction on the coop last week and think I will have more than enough time to complete it before these guys are ready to go into it. My girls love the chicks and have already named one of the Tetra browns "Juggernaut" because when they are all eating she runs through the crowd that's eating and stands on the feeder!

Looking forward to gathering more info and sharing pics and stories as we go and because everybody loves pics, a shot of our rescue dog Loki checking out his new buddies last night.

It sounds like you're already doomed to a life of chicken fever, lol. And once you get some of those fresh eggs, there's definitely no turning back!

Thanks for the fun intro, it's nice to have you join us!
