They make iron on transfers that you can buy at walmart. It will use your printer ink, but will probably be cheaper than having a pro do them.

My mom and I did this one year. They are actually pretty decent quality. Maybe buy packs of Hanes/Fruit of the loom shirts?
Then figure the cost that way..... may end up being $10/shirt or something. After ink, transfers, and shirts.
