Okay, not quite from Galveston, but pretty danged close.
As the name implies, I'm more hear for the Quail variety, (But my names not Mary.
I just like word play.) I suppose I can go by Mary. lol *My alter backyard birding ego... Quail Mary.*
Anyway!
I'm not 100% new to backyard birds, but it has been decades since my adventures with chickens, and my research into quails... remind me they are different animals. So, this will be a fun new adventure.
I'm raising quail to eat the eggs. I'm not certain I'll have the gumption to slaughter. We'll see when we get there.
Current stage: waiting on starter feed, incubators, brooder, warming lamp, etc to arrive before ordering my eggs. in the meantime, my boyfriend is kindly going to help me build the Quail coop of my dreams. lol designed by yours truly.
in my spare time, i'm running some other kind of hustle. AKA selling books on ebay, dishing out Avon to anyone who wants it, digging in my garden. the list goes on for ages.
Looking forward to meeting you all, and picking your bird brains. lol
