Heya Every1 (*_*)

I seem to be having problems posting so I'm gonna make this fast. Sry. Fuzzy Foot has had a limp for 2 days now. We give her Epson salts baths & searched her all over & all we find is red swollen hock joint. Yesterday the sweeping went into her foot as well. 😔 could a ingrown feather (like our hair) b causin a limp ?? Or maby its just a scratch from Einstein ??
I doubt an ingrown feather will cause limping. She probably sprained something. I would keep her caged for a few days so she doesn't tear and ligaments or tendons. How high are your roost bars? They can easily hurt themselves coming down off high bars. Heavy breeds shouldn't be but 1 1/2 to 2 feet off the floor. Make sure the floor is not slippery.

We have just started our flock with these 3 (4) chicks from a community batch of eggs. A farm on other side of town hatched them & we just picked them out. So we don't have 1 kind of chick. As far as I can tell we have 1 crested (Einstien), 1 silkie (Fuzzy Foot) & i Lil Sis is just a smaller brown girl with eye liner. I didn't really find any pics that looked like her. So I believe they shouldn't b heavy chickens.

My chicks r only 2 1/2 weeks old yet. We have a smaller pen inside the (coops) pen that they spend time in each day but nothing off ground yet. They r just getting thier big feathers ☺ they sleep in broader in house with us rite now. Probly b ready 4 their coop in 4 weeks or so yet.
Try to keep the injured one quiet for a few days. If she doesn't start to improve or gets worse, you might post in our Emergency forums for more help. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures.10/

thx. I wasnt sure if i was postin in the right place or not. We have her in a clear tank next to the other 2 so they can still b together. She is walkin around alittle more now but she walkin up on her toes. 😔 We don't have a chicken vet around here either so I've been researchin chicks/chickens for months. Lol
