I have a blue Cochin young 5 months old who is very sick. The skin around his face is very red and irritated and he is slightly congested and weak.This morning there were a few small beads of blood around the skin by his eyes. When we washed these there were no visible sores, just the beads of blood (like sweat beads). This all came on pretty suddenly. We noticed a couple days ago he seemed a little lethargic and the redness around has face we thought was being caused by nats . Any ideas what wwe may be dealing with? We treated him this morning with some VetRX on his head, Terramycin ointment in his eyes and antibiotic in his water.

I don't have a suggestion other than supportive care.....or perhaps fire ant bites? or spider bite? ..

I was thinking mosquitos or yellow flies.

If you listen to his lungs and hear wheezing, i would pop him with some Tylan 50 if the symptoms persist. Check his mouth and make sure their is no swelling going on inside.
