Well, I guess I should start by answering these 6 questions :)

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We sure are. We saved 2 chickens from the side of the road. We suspect they were dumped as one is a Brahma (roo) and the other looks to be an ISA brown (unknown sex)... basically, its the colour of a typical ISA Brown hen but we have our doubts about it being a hen. Could be a bit of a mutt.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
After the last couple of weeks with the 2 rescues, we have decided to get a couple more hens so, as of yesterday, we have 4.

(3) What breeds do you have?
2 ISA Browns, 1 Brahma Roo, 1 Leghorn.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
The way we find out about everything... Google

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
General tinkerer.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Just me and Trish (the better half). We have a 3 year old Mastiff cross. I'm a photographer by trade, shooting Real Estate and Commercial properties.

Hello, fellow Aussie. Welcome to having chickens and to the forum. How is your dog with the newcomers?

Thanks for the welcome Potato Chip.

She has good days and hungry days ;)

Today, with the new chicks, she's on a hunger for chicken day. Fortunately, when we bought our house a few years ago, the previous owners had chickens. So, we already had most of a decent sized coop setup. We've got an Eglu Go setup out there for them and bring the dog inside when we let them free range.

G'day nice to meet you Ben. Byc has a thread "Australia, six states and one funny little island." in case you get homesick here.

Welcome Ben and your better half Trish! Seems ya'll kinda got thrown into chicken keepin but since you went and got more I'm excited for ya. Eggs, eggs, wonderful eggs. I'm gonna wager before the year is out ya'll will have more then four :lau.:welcome
