Hi all! New here.

Hello everyone! I have another update. I was able to find a potential variant of "fishmox" but because I'm in Australia, we do not stock the brand that I've been asked to find.... Could someone, anyone help me to figure out how I can tell if it will be alright for my lash egg layer?

The ingredient should be just amoxicillin. That's what fishmox is.

They're tablets..... I feel dumb 😪 Do I dissolve into water?
These meds rarely come in a form that is easy to use for a chicken.

Cut the tablets into thirds as close as you can. Take 1/3 of a tablet and pop it into her beak so she swallows it.

If she is accustomed to eating bread, you can wrap her dose in a piece of bread and squeeze it into a ball and feed it to her that way. It is much less stressful.

Because I rarely feed such things to my birds, I first get them interested in the bread. Once they are willingly coming after the tiny pieces, I ball it up and offer it. Once they readily take the balled up bread, you're in business.

When you give her the dose, she must be away from any other bird that could steal it.

She needs to get 1/3 of a tablet every 12 hours for the 2 week course. Please let us know how she and the chicks are doing. Have the chicks shown any improvement on the poultry vitamins?

You are not dumb! We were all new at this stuff at one point! :hugs

You can do as @DobieLover suggested above, or chop it into smaller pieces and stuff into a raisin, blueberry or raspberry, too.
