Hi all! New here.

These meds rarely come in a form that is easy to use for a chicken.

Cut the tablets into thirds as close as you can. Take 1/3 of a tablet and pop it into her beak so she swallows it.

If she is accustomed to eating bread, you can wrap her dose in a piece of bread and squeeze it into a ball and feed it to her that way. It is much less stressful.

Because I rarely feed such things to my birds, I first get them interested in the bread. Once they are willingly coming after the tiny pieces, I ball it up and offer it. Once they readily take the balled up bread, you're in business.

When you give her the dose, she must be away from any other bird that could steal it.

She needs to get 1/3 of a tablet every 12 hours for the 2 week course. Please let us know how she and the chicks are doing. Have the chicks shown any improvement on the poultry vitamins?
Thank you so much. It's all quite stressful.... She'd not interested in eating anything I've tried to give her.... I fear she might be too far gone... 😭

On a happier note, the babies are walking and eating. They're still very weak but im trying very hard to help them get better. Their brood siblings seem strong though. They're getting the leftovers of all the good things I've been feeding the weak ones and loving it.

Once again, I greatly appreciate all of the guidance I have received here. By all. 💓💓💓💓

You will have to just push the tablet piece to the back of her beak and make her swallow it.

Is she drinking? If not you may need to syringe water into her.
You can follow the instructions here. I would give her as close to 50 mls every 2 hours as you can. I would add some sugar and poultry vitamins to the water to help give her a boost. Treat her for a day this way and see if she perks up and starts eating and drinking on her own.

If she continues to decline, her infection may be systemic and the kindest thing to do at that point is to euthanize her.

Okay, thank you.
