Hi all! Newly obsessed with chicks in Texas!

My DH thinks I have absolutely lost my mind! One day I thought 'wow, wouldn't it be cool to have a few chickens and get our own eggs?' A few days later, I'm scouring the internet...reading about chicken breeds, hatching, incubating, brooders, coops....aaahhhh! lol 'stalking' BYC forum...which has just created a chicken monster! Never had a chicken, never even thought about having a chicken...and now, I am obsessed...
So I just got my first eggs yesterday afternoon! woo hoo! 3 Buff Orpingtons and 4 Light Brahmas ... next week, more coming! 3 more BOs, 3 more LBs, 6 Silver Spangled Hamburgs and 12 Ameracuanas! Little Giant incubator with fan and auto egg turner...ready to go! Helloooo babies! DH - 'you didn't just talk to the eggs did you?' uuummmm...yeah, I did.

Heading to the incubator page...just a jillion questions! Looking forward to insights from all you chicken peeps!

Welcome! I'm in Texas too!! San Antonio how about you. If you go to "where are you? Where am I?" thread we have a Texas thread where you might be able to find some local chicken friends!! I dont have my chickens yet but hoprfully soon. Good luck.
