For the first time, I put 3 eggs under a broody hen. I was sooo excited when they hatched yesterday. Unfortunately today one of the chicks died. I'm so worried about the other 2 chicks. Please can anyone tell me if this is a normal situation? Mother is keeping them under her, so they should be warm, they're in a separate cage that nothing can get in. I have put water with a supplement in it and chick crumb in with them. But just wondering if it's my fault and I need to do or I have missed something. This is a new hobby for me and I want to get it right.

That is a TOTALLY normal situation. Baby chicks die all the time, genetics, internal deformities, ect.... No worries Mama!

Thank you for your response and reassurance I got so upset I thought I did something wrong hopefully the other two will flourish
