I have a bantom who just hatched out 2 chicks about a week ago and three eggs were left in the next. She is preoccupied with the new chicks so I put the eggs in the incubator to see if they will hatch. One of those eggs hatched out three days ago. It doesn't want to eat so I found a very tiny worm to feed it,which it cobbled up.
Is it OK to give it live worms at this age. I read I could give it hard boiled egg yolk also. I am currently out of
starter grower, which I plant to get today.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

I would avoid feeding yard worms to this chick, these worms can carry tapeworms and other parasites. Definitely get some chick starter as soon as possible, if you have to make do, chopped hard boiled eggs can keep them going for a few days. Only feed what it will eat in one sitting but several times a day, eggs laying our under brooder lights will grow bacteria.

Good luck with your flock and welcome to ours!
