I have 12 RIR(9wks),11 CC(8wks) and 2 adopted Japanese silkies(3mths I believe). Needing some insight on if it's OK to let out to the run with the tempbeing 40 degrees

Hi :welcome Carin

Glad you could join the flock! If your birds are fully feathered and weaned off heat they should be fine. As soon as mine are off heat and feathered they go outside.
The learning centre has some great articles that I'm sure you will find most helpful. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Wishing you the very best of luck and enjoy BYC :frow

Thank you they are outside enjoying it(which surprised me) Ohio has weird weather this time of year so I was a little nervous

Your most welcome :D
Plenty of weird weather here in the UK too :gig

They are tougher than you think, I opened the door to let my 3 week olds out because it was nice and in the afternoon we had thunder, hail storms and rain. They had the sense to head back in and were no worse for it.

I'm sure yours are enjoying being out.

Nice to meet you Carin - glad you joined the BYC flock

Welcome to BYC! If they are fully feathered they will be fine outside, just make sure they have enough food.
Best of luck to you.
