Thanks for the add!
I'm new to the chicken scene having got my first rooster (Sir Rodger) quickly followed by Princess Fiona both cream legbars and both were born May 22nd 2018.
Rodger was a little too amorous with Fiona and so I went on to search for more ladies. I quickly added as my divas! Goldie Hawn (Golden Laced Wyandotte. Born May)
Josie Moran (Blue Moran aged 18 months) and Sophia Loren (Silver Laced Wyandotte aged 5 years: rescued)
Sir Rodger has turned out to be VERY protective of his girls and I never go into the run without being armed with my little old cornbroom. Lol. He's had one or two attitude adjustments and for the most part is pretty well behaved!!
We live in the Grande Ronde valley on our farm (outside of La Grande, OR) in the middle of the wheatfields.
I found BYC after reading a forum on worming chickens in Oregon Chicken Lovers!
Yes, I'm hooked!!
I'm sure I'll be using the resources and picking brains a LOT as chickens were the furthest from my mind... I'm sure learning a lot!!
We're predominantly a grain farm but also have 5 horses, 5 beagles and a basset.... And now 5 chickens. I'm noticing a theme here!! My hubby and I also have my oldest daughter and two teen granddaughters living with us.
